20th Annual PhinneyWood Art Walk The BIG One
The neighborhood here at our Seattle location holds regular art walks throughout the year, but this May 8-9 was the biggest event of the year! It’s called the PhinneyWood Art Walk “The Big One”.
We had over 70 businesses participating on Greenwood and Phinney Aves with many choosing artists from a pool of interested artists willing to display their art in different venues. We had a wonderful young artist named Connie Fu who is a recent Harvard graduate and Microsoft employee, who displayed her art and stayed around the showroom Friday night to answer questions. We offered not only a viewing of her art, but lovely catering, wine and raffle contest. It was a great event for everyone who stopped by our showroom during the event!
Read more below about the 20th Annual PhinneyWood Art Walk:
“Originally a stand-alone annual event, the BIG One is now the centerpiece of the monthly Art Up Chow Down art walks. Started in 1996, The BIG One is one of Seattle?s oldest neighborhood art walks, second only to Pioneer Square. This year, the 20th annual PhinneyWood Art Walk features work from more than 100 area artists in 65 businesses in Phinney-Greenwood.
Over the years, this hugely popular event has turned into a neighborhood party with musical performances in participating businesses and churches, street performers, chalk art and activities for children. Maps and additional information will be available online and at participating sites the week of the Art Walk. All participating locations will be marked with A Boards during the event.”
